Emtaq 100/Emtaq 300 Description

Quetiapine fumarate tablets 100 mg: White to off white coloured, round shaped, biconvex, film-coated tablets debossed with '56' on one side and 'I' on the other side.
Quetiapine fumarate tablets 300 mg: White to off white coloured, capsule shaped, biconvex, film-coated tablets debossed with '45' on one side and 'I' on the other side.
Each Film-Coated Tablet contains: Quetiapine Fumarate equivalent to 100 mg or 300 mg of Quetiapine.
Quetiapine is described chemically as (i) Ethanol, 2-[2-(4-dibenzo[b,f] [1,4]thiazepin-11-yl-1- piperazinyl) ethoxy]-, (E)-2-butenedioate (2:1) (salt); (ii) 2-[2-(4-Dibenzo[b,f][1,4]thiazepin-11-yl-1-piperazinyl) ethoxy] ethanol fumarate (2:1) salt & (i) Bis [2-[2-[4-(dibenzo[b,f][1,4]thiazepin-11-yl)piperazin-1-yl] ethoxy] ethanol]fumarate & (i) 2- [2-(4 -Dibenzo [b,f] [1,4] thiazepin-11-yl-1- piperazinyl) ethoxy] ethanol fumarate (ii) 11-[4-[2-(2-hydroxyethoxy) ethyl] -1-piperazinyl] dibenzo [b,f] [1,4] thiazepine fumarate. The molecular formula is (C₂₁H₂₅N₃O₂S)2·C₄H₄O₄ and the molecular weight is 883.1.
Quetiapine is a white to off-white powder., and pKa value is very slightly soluble in water, hence pKa value is not determined. Soluble in Dimethyl formamide and Glacial acetic acid; sparingly soluble in methanol.
Excipients/Inactive Ingredients: Quetiapine Tablets contain the following inactive ingredients: Lactose Monohydrate (HMS Impalpable), Calcium Hydrogen Phosphate Dihydrate (Unmilled Di-Tab), Microcrystalline Cellulose (Avicel PH101), Sodium starch Glycolate (Primojel), Povidone (Plasdone K-29/32), Purified water, Sodium starch Glycolate (Primojel), Magnesium stearate, Opadry white 03B28796.
